Galerie Elwert is located in the charming Südliche Waldstraße, where design, fashion and lifestyle are at home. Gallery owner Jo Elwert's father founded his art bookbinding and framing workshop in Baden-Baden back in 1949. We are proud to continue this tradition here in Karlsruhe - contemporary, creative and friendly. You can rely on 70 years of experience.
Our programme
Our art aims to bring joy, is positive and life-orientated. For example, we carry etchings by JANOSCH full of humour and poetry, original graphics by cult rocker Udo Lindenberg as well as the wonderful Ottifanten variations by Otto Waalkes.
With great expertise and a keen sense for lasting trends, gallery owner Jo Elwert is constantly presenting new, outstanding artists that are well worth discovering. One of the focal points is New Pop Art. Fabien Novarino, Diederik van Apple, duckpool, Ronald Chapeau - modern collages and portraits, often in a mix of materials, captivating and simply cool.
We carry the title "authorised James Rizzi gallery". You will find a large selection of works from all creative phases of the great, unforgotten Pop Art artist as well as the latest editions and valuable unique pieces. Jo Elwert, a proven Rizzi expert, will advise you on your selection with as much passion as expertise.
Our framing workshop
We will be happy to show you how your artwork - and anything else that is valuable to you - can be shown to its best advantage with the right framing. In addition to around 1,000 strips of wood and aluminium in all styles and colours, we would like to recommend our unique frames. Here, the frame is finished with coloured lacquer and gold, silver or platinum only after assembly; no mitre cuts are visible. A visible and tangible, almost sensual difference. Whatever you decide on: Bring us your treasures, we will be happy to take time for you.
Excellent service
There is a car park for loading and unloading directly in front of the building. Two multi-storey car parks are in the immediate vicinity: Postgalerie and Amalienstraße. By the way: We have numerous customers not only in Karlsruhe, but also in the entire region. We would be happy to advise you at your home - with no obligation. Pick-up and delivery service for your pictures and framing are a matter of course for us.
