The Baden Society of Art was founded in Karlsruhe in 1818 and is thus the second oldest art association in Germany. The association has actively presented and promoted contemporary art since the beginning of the 19th century through to the 21st century.

The continuity of its programme and its professional work have earned the Baden Society of Art a strong reputation in regional and international art circles for its substantial contributions to the cultural image of the city of Karlsruhe. In addition to its exhibition programme, the Baden Society of Art also organises lectures, film programmes, guided tours, discussions, dialogue with artists, art excursions and special events for teachers and schoolchildren.
