In 2018, the Scheidtweiler brewing family acquired the brewery and set themselves the goal of once again offering Karlsruhe and its surroundings individual beers with a strong character and continuing the great brewing tradition of the Moninger family.
Together with a team of beer enthusiasts, they set to work and worked in great detail to revise the brewing process, change raw materials and develop new recipes. Many, many test brews later, the new Moninger beers were presented for the first time in September 2021. Two of the new main varieties were dedicated to the defining figures of the first and second generations of the Moninger family. "Die Moni", the export, is a tribute to the first generation and the key role played by Marie Moninger. "Der Karl" honours the creative power and innovative spirit of the second generation around Karl Moninger.
