Karlsruhe-Weststadt city tour: historic Wilhelminian-style facades and a colourful mix of urban multi-cultural chic
Join us on a culinary journey through the streets of Karlsruhe's Weststadt district, which has developed into a gem worth living in thanks to the preservation of its historic Wilhelminian-style facades from the industrial suburban character of the 19th century.
You will stroll along Sophienstraße, which conceals the Landgraben, the largest covered sewer in Europe after Paris. Find out that Carl Benz, the inventor of the automobile, was born just 1 km from here between the factories and breweries and that the first four girls in Germany graduated from the Lessinggymnasium in 1899. Our tour guide will provide you with entertaining stories about life and the people who live here.
Admire this almost dreamy yet lively neighbourhood, where people meet to chat in the cafés and traditional restaurants around Gutenbergplatz. The whole experience is rounded off with excellent culinary delights and exciting insider tips. Get to know Karlsruhe's Weststadt from a particularly charming side with us!
