Galerie Schrade looks back on 50 years of gallery experience. Since the gallery was founded in Reutlingen in 1971, it has gone through several stages. In 1973, the "Schloßhof Galerie" was opened in Kißlegg as the gallery's new headquarters, which was complemented by a marvellous annexe in Lindau on Lake Constance from 1980 to 1997. In 1985, Mochental Castle became the gallery's new headquarters. In 1999, Galerie Schrade opened its next branch, this time in Karlsruhe. Since 2008, it has been located on Zirkel in the immediate vicinity of Karlsruhe Palace.
The gallery in Karlsruhe with its 400 square metres is arepresentative, large and modern space in the middle of the cultural life of Karlsruhe. Galerie Schrade has been showing classical modern and contemporary art for 50 years now, combining regionally rooted, nationally established and globally recognised art.
