The City Archive is the central point of contact for all questions relating to the history of Karlsruhe. As the "memory of the city", the archive holds important documents on the city's history, which you can view in the reading room of the city archive to answer your questions, such as
Where did my ancestors live?
What was our street like 100 years ago?
When was the Galathea fountain built?
How many people lived in Karlsruhe 150 years ago?
The answers to these and many other questions can be found in the City Archives.
Guided tours of the City Archives are available at any time for school classes from grade 4 and for groups by appointment.
