Kino im Blauen Salon
The Kino im Blauen Salon is the university cinema of the HfG Karlsruhe. In the Blauer Salon, the university's cinema hall (50 seats), students organise film series every semester that focus on film history, short film programmes, experimental films and student productions.
The HfG Karlsruhe's university cinema has been in existence since the summer semester of 2016. The team is reorganised each semester, with some members staying on for longer. A film programme is created together each semester, with a different focus depending on the constellation.
The Blauer Salon is the university's own cinema on the ground floor of the Hochschule für Gestaltung. Film evenings take place here once or twice a month in a cosy atmosphere with 50 seats, blue cinema seats and curtains. Where possible, the films are presented in analogue film projection (35mm and 16mm). This means that rare film prints from film archives, museums and the HfG's own collection can be shown.
Each film is accompanied by an introduction, changing supporting programmes and a small cinema bar. The Film Club also organises the HfG Open Air Cinema every summer.
