The church centre planned by Peter Krebs and completed in 2017 in a suburban housing estate in the north-west of Karlsruhe has created a bright and clear interplay between the parish hall and the church. The church centre consists of roof areas of different heights. Thanks to the façade made of washed water-struck bricks, the building has a uniform appearance, which also indicates that the buildings represent the union of the two churches (St Peter and St James). It is also intended to symbolise New Architecture in Karlsruhe, as the building's function is at the forefront. The church centre received an award for "exemplary building" from the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects in 2018.
