Beschreibung
The tour starts at the Karlsruhe Tourist Information Office on the market square. Here you can get the most important insider tips. If you arrive by train, you can also start the tour conveniently at the main station.
From the tourist information office, it is advisable to push your bike across the market square. The tour starts with Karlsruhe's landmark, the pyramid on the market square. To the left is the Protestant town church and to the right the Karlsruhe town hall with its carillon. Once you have crossed the market square, cycle on towards Rondellplatz, in the center of which stands the Constitution Column, one of the landmarks of the City of Law.
Here you turn into Erbprinzenstraße and arrive directly at Friedrichsplatz. There is plenty to discover on Friedrichsplatz, such as the State Museum of Natural History, St. Stephen's Church and the Ständehaus. Incidentally, the Badisches Ständehaus is rightly regarded as a pioneer of democracy in Germany. The memorial site is freely accessible and presents the history of Baden. The Natural History Museum promises excitement for the whole family with its permanent and special exhibitions. The large fountain in the middle of the square invites you to take a break on one of the shady seats.
Continue straight ahead along Erbprinzenstraße to Ludwigsplatz, one of the most popular squares in the western part of the city center. Numerous restaurants, bars and cafés invite you to linger here. The motto here is: "See and be seen". The route now turns left from Erbprinzenstraße into Herrenstraße, past the Federal Court of Justice, across Amalienstraße and finally through Waldstraße. This is one of the longest and best-known fan streets in the city. The shopping street offers a large selection of stores and restaurants.
The tour continues to the next stop via Sophienstraße, from where you turn left at the junction into Reinhold-Frank-Straße. After just under 100 meters, the route turns into Gartenstraße and then follows Lorenzstraße to the left. This takes you past the ZKM
