Fish SPA
Our reddish suckermouth barbs are approx. 3 to 5 cm in size and originally come from the Euphrates-Tigris region (Turkey, Syria, Jordan). They belong to the carp family. The tail fin of this freshwater fish takes on a reddish colour as it grows larger. In our tanks, you will only find the smaller juveniles, as they are less active when they reach sexual maturity and there is a risk that they will eat their young. This is why we return the fish to the breeder after around 12 to 18 months, where they live for many more years.
They use their lips to "nibble" and suck the dead skin scales from the surface of the skin that has softened in the warm water. This is why these industrious little fish are also known as "nibbling fish". After a fish treatment, the skin feels wonderfully soft. Unbelievable, but true: the skin becomes softer, looks fresher and even younger, without the use of cosmetic products.
