Galerie Knecht und Burster is one of the established galleries in Karlsruhe, having emerged from the gruppe art-contact gallery, founded in 1985. Regular exhibitions showcase national and international artists who mainly emerged from the Karlsruhe Art Academy or had teachers who studied here, such as Professors Hans Baschang - Academy of Fine Arts Munich - and Professor Dieter Krieg - Kunstakadmie Düsseldorf. Franz Bernhard, a pupil of Wilhelm Loth, should not be forgotten. The regular exhibition series WESTSÜD shows and promotes young artistic positions from the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe. The Knecht und Burster Gallery is represented at national and international exhibitions and is a member of the Federal Association of Galleries.
