In addition to its function as the eastern pillar of Karlsruhe's shopping mile, Kronenplatz has primarily created a square for Karlsruhe's youth - and not just because of the nearby KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The youth and meeting centre (Jubez) located on the square offers numerous popular cultural leisure activities and events for the city's young residents. In addition, owner-managed shops provide shopping pleasure by making individual shopping possible. In summer, afternoons can be spent socialising by the fountain or in the neighbouring cafés.
