Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe, Lorenzstraße 27, 76135 Karlsruhe

The Municipal Gallery (Städtische Galerie) was founded in 1981 and is one of the most renowned art museums in the south west of Germany. Since 1997 the Municipal Gallery has been located in a hall building on Lorenzstraße, adjacent to the Center for Art and Media (ZKM).

Changing exhibitions and the display collection are on show on three floors of the listed industrial building with its fascinating architecture. The permanent presentation is regularly newly created and shows a selection of outstanding works of art in municipal possession and from the famous Garnatz private collection. The museum specialises in works of artists in Karlsruhe and the south west of Germany.
